Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. A desire to make clients happy is a must.

inQbation seeks a Scrum Master with an agile mindset.  As a Project Manager and Scrum Master, you will play an integral role in the product development process, helping our development teams deliver outstanding results through each iterative development cycle.

Candidates must have a “get-it-done at any cost” attitude and strong communication and organization skills.  You MUST have a COMMAND of AMERICAN ENGLISH as well as an understanding of the web, social media and the ability to communicate well with developers, designers, and clients on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, positive, and supportive, values small company culture, and has the ability and desire to motivate people to do great work. You are an outstanding negotiator, facilitator, and consensus builder, and apply these skills to help your team be a more cohesive and productive unit. You are also a Scrum pragmatist, and recognize that a perfectly executed product is more valuable than a perfectly executed process.

Project managers provide the interface between clients and internal resources to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget and that the work meets clients’ expectations. PMs work closely with the development and creative teams to explore ongoing technical capabilities and ensure project success. Individuals within this role provide assistance to the web design/development team on interactive projects. PMs must understand the creative process and support collaboration across all departments.

• You will manage a portfolio of projects as well as run point on overseeing an interdisciplinary team that applies agile workflow process to every aspect of product development.
• You will be able to combine your management skills with your passion for problem solving and proclivity for organization.
• You will act as our team leader in conducting team and project standups and will act as an internal air traffic controller in assuring that each team member is in position and performing.

You will act as a liaison between the technical and marketing teams to effectively manage resources, schedules and the quality of deliverables. You will translate stakeholder needs into a clear definition of system requirements, culminating in the production launch of complex and highly targeted interactive web products.

Essential Functions:

• Participates in negotiating and developing proposals and change orders that outline project requirements and deliverables
• Develops project schedules to ensure that all critical tasks are identified and completed on a timely basis
• Initiates and coordinates each phase and task according to schedule
• Educates clients on project process, schedule, and scope
• Manages budget, timeline, and resource utilization
• Procures all necessary equipment, services, and materials when needed for project success
• Attends daily traffic meeting to secure necessary resources
• Facilitates communication with clients, team members, suppliers, and management on project progress
• Monitors compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations relating to the project
• Follows up to ensure client satisfaction and internal project success
• Performs administrative duties related to a project as needed, including general accounting responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:

• Coordinate and facilitate all Scrum meetings including daily standups, backlog grooming, and sprint planning for 2-3 cross-functional Scrum teams.
• Remove blockers and impediments to the team’s progress, and integrate information from multiple sources in order to anticipate potential issues and help the team resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate release management activities and work with team members to resolve dependencies among multiple product development teams.
• Be an advocate for a continuous improvement mindset, holding retrospectives with your teams, inviting and accepting critical feedback, sharing lessons learned, and identifying and effectively applying improvements.
• Document and communicate project information including release plans, team agreements, retrospectives, and release notes.
• Provide visibility to senior management into team status, progress, and issues.
• Act as a mentor, evangelist, and coach, explaining not just the process but also the “why” of Scrum principles, and spreading an agile mindset throughout the organization.
• Work with engineering management to establish best practices and improve efficiency of development processes. Forge strong relationships and act as a bridge builder among stakeholders across the organization, including marketing, sales, product management, UX, creative, engineering, and IT.
• Make our clients happy.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client after project initiation.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with clients regarding the status of their project and project risks/dependencies.
• Define, oversee and communicate all project priorities, timelines and deliverables to internal teams, clients, and partner groups.
• When appropriate, work with Sales Team on project feasibility assessments.
• Own quality control and successful delivery of projects after Sales Team has negotiated pricing and deliverables with client. Work with our Development Team to ensure projects are launched flawlessly, on time and clients are thrilled.
• Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. Compile reports analyzing the success of projects.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Clear sense of priority when  directing resources, monitoring development efforts, assembling key project deliverables, reporting project status and raising awareness on issues requiring escalation
• Big picture vision combined with obsession with detail relative to a project’s quality assurance cycle to ensure that final product meets expectations of the original development requirements
• Leadership and management skills in running daily project and team standups.
• Strong ability to appropriately sequence and schedule the execution of multiple projects – from research and planning through design, completion and launch.
• Clear written and verbal communication with other management, developers, product managers and technical specialists on planning issues and business and/or functional requirements
• Must be a “team-player” who thrives within collaborative and framework driven environments
• Communicate project implementation options that affect cost, schedule, quality and risk to stakeholders, as well as offer recommendations based on these elements
• Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
• Thorough understanding of the interactive website development lifecycle
• Experience with creating estimates and SOWs and using project management & communication tools (Microsoft Project, Basecamp, etc.)
• Baseline project management skills required
• Excellent communication skills required for moving projects through the organization and troubleshooting project obstacles
• Experience running both internal and client-facing meetings during all phases of a project
• Basic understanding of advertising and marketing practices, time management, budget monitoring, and the entire life cycle of a Web project
• Ability to delegate tasks to the internal team and remain informed of progress
• Ability to develop relationships with clients, providers, the internal team, management, and other project contacts
• Knowledge of the specific industry trends and issues
• Excellent written communication skills
• Excellent organization and negotiation skills
• Technical understanding of industry-standard and search technologies
• Experience interacting with clients and a passion for client satisfaction.
• Proven track record of project management.
• An understanding of web, Facebook and mobile application development and the ability to communicate well with developers is a must.
• A passion for social media and an understanding of the social space is a plus.
• Interactive agency experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Project or program management experience in a software or web application development environment, with a minimum of one year as a Scrum Master.
• Bachelor’s degree and CSM/CSP certification is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of agile/iterative product development, the relationships among product management, user experience, content, and development teams, and an understanding how they influence each other to execute projects successfully as part of a cross-functional team.
• Fast learner with a strong ability to adapt to change and operate effectively in new environments. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven ability to facilitate, negotiate, and problem solve with people from different backgrounds and mindsets.
• Must be organized with a strong attention to detail, able to think beyond what is asked for, act independently, and juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with project and defect management tools such as VersionOne and Bugzilla is a plus.
• Experience working with a globally distributed development organization is strongly preferred.
